Daily Painting - Feb 13, 2026
This is one of my most figurative, non-abstracted, painting so far. I had watched some Bob Ross a few nights ago while eating dinner and like always I had remarked at how strange it was to see him make a mark, like the snow on a mountain, that in my head remains 'just a mark.' But once they switch to a different camera, or a close up of his palette, and then back to the painting, it doesn't look like just a mark anymore but the side of a mountain; this is especially apparent when he uses a blue shade for the shadowed side of the mountain. "Oh it's just blue, but wait..." and suddenly the brain says 'No, that's white, but in shadow...' Same goes for his shrubs, tree branches, clouds, etc. It's really interesting to experience and does not get old at all.
